Amazon Colours recently celebrated ten successful years in Thailand. The international colourant and pigment dispersion manufacturer is a dominant supplier of point-of-sale colourants in South East Asia, with sophisticated production facilities in Thailand and Indonesia.

The story of Amazon Colours began in a small factory in Johannesburg, South Africa in 2003. After rapid success on the African continent, the company set out to explore opportunities abroad. 

In 2008, Andrew Reay, the founder of Amazon Colours, bid against fierce competition to enter the Thailand market. The company’s first customer was secured after intensive quality testing and proving a reliable supply chain. This eventually led to an opportunity to build a factory in the country, from where the regional South East Asian territory could be serviced.

It was in 2010 that Amazon Colours opened its doors in Thailand and by 2016 the company had grown to be the number one manufacturer of colourants in South East Asia. Supporting the growing demand for colourants in the region, Amazon Colours also opened full colour labs in Vietnam and Indonesia. By 2017, the company had furthermore established a full manufacturing and R&D facility in Indonesia. 

Since its inception, Amazon Colours has delivered the latest, most cost-effective and environmentally-friendly technology to its end markets. “We pride ourselves on products of the highest quality that deliver consistent colour strength and accurate colour reproduction. These products are compatible with a large range of tinting machines, software and marketing materials,” says Andrew Reay. “In both Thailand and Indonesia, we have exceptional personnel in place. Our Colour Teams are database building experts who track the evolution of colour, our R&D Departments understand the complex chemical characteristics of colourants and include experienced local and international chemists always looking to develop innovative products for the paint market.”
